In 2011 Evan Awake and I bonded over a mutual love of various styles of music. We were running in similar online circles in an incredible, supportive jazz-hop community. He had gained a following first as a talented mashup artist before finally branching into production. I was hitting my stride in the year following my debut album, and was in an incredibly productive period of my life. And so, we decided to create something together, never having met in person, between Germany and England where we both respectively live.

Our first collaborative project was called Prima Vista breezewax.bandcamp.com/album/prima-vista and it ended up being one of the most popular releases both of us have had. We had a great listener base and it's been cool seeing how the collection has endured over time. Given the success of Prima Vista, we kept in contact sporadically with plans to make a follow-up. In fact, we had started on one maybe a couple of times in the years that followed. But the fated reunion never materialised as life got in the way.

Fast forward to December 2020. With the world stricken by the COVID pandemic, we found ourselves back under lockdowns and restrictions. I desperately wanted a new creative project to get stuck into but wasn't sure on the direction I would take. It was perfect timing when Evan Awake (now creating music as Bakoda) got in touch with me again to say 'let's finally start working on our new EP!!' This time it felt right for the both of us.

We're sorry it took 10 years! But, without a shadow of a doubt, this project is better than it ever would have been had we released years earlier. We hope you enjoy Seconda Vista.
